WhatsApp video calling feature revealed in Android beta update
When WhatsApp got a voice calling feature, it left one question: when do we will get video calling feature? There were plenty of hints of its impending arrival, and now the feature has been arrived in the beta Android app.
The progress of Whatsapp in terms of adding features to it was always a bit slow because of it’s large user base worldwide means it doesn’t matter how small an update is, it will affect usage for millions of users worldwide. So as of now Whatsapp’s video calling feature is available only for beta testers to test if it has any bugs or not Whatsapp will public release it on Playstore when they will confirm it doesn’t have any bug.
The fresh new update of Whatsapp is available on their official website. WhatsApp’s video-calling-feature(beta program) shows a changelog of the usual bug fixes, also in the addition of the much-awaited video calling feature. For now it’s only the option to make a video call which is available, but the service isn’t live yet.
video calling feature can be accessed by tapping on as usual VoIP WhatsApp icon after taping on it, it will show users the option to choose if they want to make a voice call or a video call to the contact instead of directly initiated the voice calling to the contact. The option of video call as of now is accessible only from inside the chat window of contact and not from the ‘Calls menu’.
The changelog of new Whatsapp’s update clearly mentioned that, “You get the option to make video calls, that’s not activated yet but soon would be available for everyone to make video calls.”
As long as the rest of the features go, there is not any major visual change excluding the usual bug fixes to this version of the update.
