Published

on

Coming up with blog post ideas on a consistent basis is not easy. When you’re starting out, you can come up with ideas on the fly. All you need to do is just think about it for a few seconds, and you know exactly what you’re going to write about next.

And yet, after a while, the ideas slowly start to fade, and you have a harder time coming up with anything original. Take hear; this is a problem that a lot of bloggers face. And yet, sometimes the most unique blog ideas are hiding in plain sight. They are in everyday aspects of our lives that we often overlook because they are so commonplace.

To find your next blog topic, try to take a step back and think about things without any preconceived notions. When you do that, you will notice a lot of idea gold sitting right under your nose. Don’t believe me? Here are some ideas:

  1. Talk about your Journey

We all have a story, and you are likely no exception. If you’ve been running your blog for a while, then you will find that your readers likely would like to know how you got to be where you are today. How did you get started as a blogger or in your general career? What are the challenges that you faced along the way, and how did you overcome them?

Your readers would love for you to give them answers to these questions. That way, you make them feel even closer to you because they are a part of that journey now. You’re now sharing your journey with them.

  1. Talk about what scares you

We all have our fears. In fact, it is what makes us distinctly human. Your readers have their fears, and I’ll bet you they often sit and wonder if anyone else fears the same things.

When you write a blog post about your fears, then you open up the stage for your readers to relate with you in a deeper way because many of them will probably share your fears.

  1. Politics

This one is a little controversial. But then again, controversy sells. The fact is, you probably have a firm opinion on a few major political issues. Why don’t you talk about those issues? Be careful about just going off the bat and saying where you stand, though.

Take some time to explore the topic. Do your research and find out more about the subject and the different points of view on it. Before you come right out and express your opinion on the matter, make sure you have interrogated that opinion and made sure your conviction in it is backed up by compelling evidence and a decent consideration of the opposing view.

You don’t have to do this on your own. For such a technical subject, you may well need technical help. Lucky for you, there are lots of services online that offer dissertation help, such as Edubirdie (https://au.edubirdie.com/dissertation-writing-services). These are the same services that help Ph.D. students come up with those glowing theses. Not to mean that they will write a dry academic piece for your vibrant blog, but they will certainly help you give it a logical structure as well as compelling substance.

  1. Education

There is a lot you can write about in the area of education. It is a wide subject that is ever evolving and expanding. Part of it depends on your knowledge of the landscape of education today and what new methods and technologies are being developed to improve it. The other part depends on the specific niche you operate in and its relationship with education.

  1. Write about your Aspirations

We mentioned earlier that writing about your fears was a great idea for a blog post. On the other end of the spectrum, you can also write about your aspirations; the things you yearn for. Is there something in particular that you would like to learn or some kind of skill that you would like to master? Alternatively, you can write about some place you would love to go, some activity or sport you’d like to try out and so on. You get the drill.

  1. Interviews

Interviews are great for topics. They make for easy topics without too much creative tax on you and also give your readers the opportunity to hear what their favorite personalities have to say.

  1. Productivity Tips

Productivity articles make for great content because this is an evergreen topic. Whatever industry you’re in, productivity hacks are something you can talk about and they will help your readers get a lot more out of their day.

  1. How do you work while traveling?

If you travel a lot, then you must have settled into some kind of system where you manage to get your workload done and still enjoy your travels. You probably have readers that are trying to do the same and wouldn’t mind some advice from you. Such articles are a great way to guide them on their way to the 4-hour work week.

  1. How do you stay healthy?

Health is yet another evergreen topic you can explore with your readers. In case you’ve managed to keep your body and mind in good shape so far, then you definitely have tips that your readers will find valuable. In case you don’t, you can always do some research that helps you on your way and turn it into an interesting article that your readers will also appreciate.

  1. Content Marketing

How do you market your blog? You do you keep traffic flowing to your site and what sales funnel do you use to convert leads into paying customers? All this is important information, no matter what niche you’re in. Many of your readers would love to hear some valuable tips from you about content marketing, so don’t hesitate to share!

Conclusion

Guess what: that’s not the end! There are literally tons and tons of different ideas you could apply to your blog to make interesting, engaging, and unique blog posts.

A good trick I like to use is to use a mind map. I will sit down and use a random work as a seed. It could be “tomato,” for example. I will then write down the first thing that comes to mind when I think of tomato. It might be the color “red.” I will then write the next thing that comes to my mind when I think of the color red, and so on. Then I draw a circle around the word “tomato” and another one around the word “red.” I link them with a line and continue the process from there, getting as many circles linked as I can. What emerges is a mind map. Something as simple as a tomato might end up with me contemplating the meaning of life, the universe, and everything. That and everything in-between is fertile ground to find my next blog post idea.

Stay calm throughout the process and try to be as simple as possible. You never know; your best blog post yet might be lurking in the most unexpected of places!
